Maine health officials are warning of potential exposure to COVID-19 at the Portland International Jetport after someone who tested positive for the virus nearly boarded a plane.

Maine’s CDC says people at the jetport between 12:30 and 4:00 in the afternoon on Sunday may have been exposed.

They say the individual tested positive late last week and was told to isolate. They intended to board a flight to Florida along with a close contact, but chose not to after communication with Maine CDC staff.

The close contact was removed from a plane before takeoff and has not been confirmed to have COVID-19.

Anyone at the jetport at that time is being advised to monitor themselves for symptoms and consult their healthcare provider to determine if they should be tested.
