Maine congressional delegation condemns Russian invasion of Ukraine

Members of Maine’s congressional delegation have slammed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to launch an invasion in Ukraine.

Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins, who sits on the Senate Intelligence Committee, said Thursday the Russian president “has once again shown himself to be a ruthless autocrat who does not hesitate to kill innocent people while trampling international law.”

Independent Sen. Angus King says he’s praying for the people of Ukraine as the U.S. and its allies push to ensure that Russia pays a “dire price” for the attacks.

Maine Congresswoman Chellie Pingree also said Thursday that America stands with the people of Ukraine.
