Maine crash kills teen, injures 2 others

PHILLIPS, Maine (AP) A single-vehicle crash killed a Maine teenager and seriously injured two others, police said.

Police said the crash happened on Sunday morning in Phillips. The crash in which the vehicle went of the roadway and struck several trees remained under investigation, police said.

The crash killed a 15-year-old from Dixfield who was not identified by police.

Driver Benjamin Carrol, 18, of Dixfield, and another passenger, Charlie Billings, 18, of Carthage, were both transported to a hospital with serious injuries, police said.

The Maine State Police Crash Reconstruction Team was working to investigate the crash Monday.
