Maine drug agents have made an arrest in connection with heroin and fentanyl distribution in Hancock County.

Maine’s Drug Enforcement Agency said it had taken into custody 35-year-old Keith Wedge of Tremont on Monday. He was identified in connection with trafficking on Mount Desert Island.

He was stopped by police in Newport. Drug agents then executed a search warrant on his vehicle, where they found 500 grams of suspected fentanyl with an estimated street value of about $100,000, as well as more than $9,000 in suspected drug proceeds.

He was taken to Penobscot County Jail with bail set at $25,000 cash.
