Maine fared well in the 21st annual “State of Tobacco Control” report from the American Lung Association.

Maine is considered one of the top states in the nation when it comes to policies aimed at preventing and reducing tobacco use.

According to CBS 13, the state earned mostly passing grades on this year’s report, except when it comes to flavored tobacco sales, which is legal at the state level.

Maine received an F in that category, however, there have been efforts to ban the sale of the products statewide, and about a month ago, South Portland joined Portland, Bangor and Brunswick in approving a ban.
