A Maine-based health care provider says about 30,000 of their patients may have had their information compromised in a hack back in September.

Intermed, which has offices in Portland, South Portland, and Yarmouth, said Tuesday that someone gained access to the email account of an employee between September 4th and September 6th. The company was made aware of the hack on the 6th. The contents of the emails that were accessed may have included patient names, dates of birth, health insurance information, and social security numbers belonging to a limited number of patients.

The company says they’ll be mailing out notifications to patients who may be impacted, and offering complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services to patients whose social security numbers have been been accessed.

The company says patients with questions can reach out to their call center at 1-855-946-0129, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
