Northern Light Health is expanding vaccine registration to teachers, staff and childcare workers of all ages.

On Thursday, the hospital system announced that employed teachers and staff, including bus drivers and licensed childcare workers, can now register to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

Previously, the registration link was sent to those individuals by their school administrator, but they can now register using the public scheduling page on Northern Light’s website.

Dr. James Jarvis says Northern Light is planning on opening up a vaccine clinic at the Piscataquis Ice Arena on March 19th, where they’re aiming to vaccinate 1,500 people a week.

The Maine DHHS has also set up vaccine clinics for teachers and school staff who are 60 and older, to take place March 12th through March 14th. Those who are eligible will be notified as to where those clinics are taking place.
