Officals at Hebron Academy confirm that one of their graduates was among 14 people killed in a terror attack in Nairobi, Kenya on Tuesday.

40-year-old Jason Spindler, who graduated with the class of 1996, co-founded I-DEV International, based in San Francisco. He was in Kenya working on relationships between the African nation and international companies.

Of the 14 who died, 12 were from Kenya and one was from Britain. Spindler was the only American killed in the attack.

According to the Portland Press Herald, Spindler narrowly avoided the September 11th, 2001 terror attacks while working as an investment banker in Manhattan at the time. He had an office inside the World Trade Center and was arriving at work just as the first tower fell.
