Maine man arrested for death of Portland woman in November

Portland police say a local man has been charged with murder in the death of an unhoused woman in November 2022.

Police said 45-year-old Frederick Johnson was arrested on a warrant charging him in the death of 23-year-old Bethany Kelley. Her body was found on Kennebec Street on Nov. 18, 2022.

Johnson was already being held at Aroostook County Jail on unrelated charges. He was arrested by Portland detectives on Tuesday.
