Maine Man Arrested for Drug Possession


STRONG, Maine (WGAN)  A man from Strong is facing drug charges after a traffic stop on Saturday.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says 20-year-old Michael Deming was stopped around 10 p.m. Saturday while driving on South Main Street because of a vehicle defect.

The sheriff’s office called in Maine State Police to help as passengers were in the car.

Police say they then found a white, powdery residue and bags containing illicit drugs.

Deming was charged with unlawful possession of schedule W drugs.  He was taken to Franklin County Jail and released on bail.

Police say the drugs, which weren’t identified, had a street value of $2,000.
