Penobscot County man charged in shooting that injured two

A man from Penobscot County has been charged in connection with a shooting that left two people with non-life-threatening injuries.

Shannon Moss with the Maine Department of Public Safety said police and game wardens responded to a report of shots fired on Averill Road on Friday afternoon. The two victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries, with one treated and released from the hospital and the other still hospitalized in stable condition as of Monday.

Following an investigation over the weekend, 64-year-old Gary LeBlanc of Prentiss was taken into custody on Monday and faces several charges in connection with the shooting.

He was arrested without incident and taken to Penobscot County Jail.

A date for his initial court appearance had not been set.
