Two people have been charged in connection with a deadly hit-and-run in Danforth.

Police say 35-year-old Rian Moore and 28-year-old Mikayla Lowell, both of Danforth, were arrested Friday morning.

The arrests came following an investigation into a crash on Sunday that claimed the life of 50-year-old Don Charette of Frenchville. Police said a Ford Explorer registered in Rian Moore’s name crossed the center line and struck two motorcycles, killing Charette. The other motorcyclist, 30-year-old Jesse Ouellette of St. Agatha, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Moore was charged with manslaughter, driving to endanger, and leaving the scene of an accident, while Lowell faces charges of hindering apprehension or prosecution and tampering with a witness or informant.

The two are being held at Washington County Jail.
