Maine man faces attempted murder, assault charges in connection with woman’s death in Belgrade

One man has been charged with attempted murder after a shooting in Belgrade Sunday morning that sent one woman to the hospital.

Maine State Police say 58-year-old Christina Bell was flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland with serious injuries after being shot at a home on Point Road. She was later transferred to a Boston hospital and is expected to survive.

Officers say 26-year-old Samuel Bell left the home in his vehicle and was taken into custody a short time later. He was brought to Kennebec County Correctional Facility where he was charged with attempted murder and elevated aggravated assault.
