BAR HARBOR, Maine (AP)   A Maine man charged with raping and murdering a 19-year-old classmate has pleaded not guilty to charges.

Twenty-one-year-old Jalique Keene is accused of murdering Mikaela Conley of Bar Harbor in June. According to court documents, Keene was seen on surveillance video dragging Conley’s body to a wooded area where she was later found.

Authorities say Conley died from blunt force trauma and strangulation.

Keene and Conley both attended Mount Desert High School at the same time, where Keene was a running back for the football team.

Keene’s attorney says they are still piecing evidence together in the case.
