A Buxton man who posted a threat against the Jewish community during Rosh Hashanah was sentenced to a year and one day in prison on Thursday.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 27-year-old Brian Dennison was found guilty by a jury in December of transmitting a threatening interstate communication.

In September of 2021, Dennison made a post on X, formerly Twitter, saying, “I’m going to kill Jews with my AR-15 tomorrow.”

While executing a search warrant, police found an AR-15 style rifle and ammo hidden in the woods behind his residence.

Dennison’s prison sentence will be followed by three years of supervised release.
