A Gardiner man was sentenced Tuesday to 65 years behind bars for killing his former friend and nearly cutting off the hands of another man with a machete.

According to CBS 13 News, Dylan Ketcham was sentenced for shooting 22-year-old Jordan Johnson in the head in January of 2020. Johnson later died of his injuries.

Ketcham was also charged with the assault and attempted murder of Caleb Trudeau, whose hands were nearly severed by a machete in the attack.

In September of 2022, a mistrial was declared over gruesome police body-camera footage that disturbed jurors.

A jury found Ketcham guilty earlier this year.
