Maine pizza delivery driver reportedly robbed, assaulted while making delivery

A pizza delivery driver was reportedly robbed and assaulted by as many as five suspects in Lewiston.

According to CBS 13, police were called to Bates St. shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday.

The Papa Johns delivery driver says the food he was delivering was stolen, along with his cellphone.

The suspects were reportedly last seen running toward the Knox St. area.

The 35-year-old driver returned to work and reported the incident.

He was later treated at the hospital for minor injuries.

Police are reviewing video footage from street cameras as the investigate the reported crime.
