Maine reports 652 COVID-19 cases, 3 deaths

(AP) The Maine CDC reported another 652 coronavirus cases and three new deaths Thursday.

New cases of the virus continued to rise in Maine.

The seven-day rolling average of daily new cases in Maine has risen over the past two weeks from 282.43 new cases per day on Aug. 31 to 450.29 new cases per day on Sept. 14. The seven-day rolling average of daily deaths in Maine has risen over the past two weeks from 1.14 deaths per day on Aug. 31 to 4.29 deaths per day on Sept. 14.

The AP is using data collected by Johns Hopkins University Center for Systems Science and Engineering to measure outbreak caseloads and deaths across the United States.

Maine has been the site of more than 82,000 cases of the virus and 979 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
