WISCASSET, Maine (AP) State police in Maine say they are joining local police in investigating the death of a 4-year-old girl in Wiscasset.

Police say the girl, Kendall Chick, died on Dec. 8, less than two weeks after her birthday. They say an ambulance responded to the child’s home after a 911 call placed from the home reported an unresponsive child.

Police say an autopsy took place over the weekend, but results have not been released. They say they have also conducted interviews with Kendall’s grandfather and his fiancée, with whom the girl lived.
