Maine State Police say a suspect who led officers on a high-speed chase that started in Hancock County may pose a threat to public safety.

Police said the chase started after a report of an erratic driver around 9 a.m. Tuesday in Dedham. The driver continued on after an attempted traffic stop.

During the chase, police say the driver pulled into Autoworks in Eddington, struck a parked vehicle, and then took off on foot. The crash also knocked out power to the area.

Police later received a report about a GMC pickup being stolen from a residence nearby. It was recovered from a parking lot a short time later, where a black 2017 Toyota Camry had also been stolen.

The suspect and the Camry remain at large. Anyone with information is being asked to contact police.
