Maine State Police say they stopped two unsafe tractor trailers on Friday.
Police said troopers with the Commercial Vehicle Unit removed one tractor trailer heading southbound on I-95 in York with it’s lower and upper rail of the trailer broken. A trooper stopped the vehicle and brought it to a weigh station in Kittery where it was inspected. It was then placed out of service and towed away.
Earlier today, Troopers from the Commercial Vehicle Unit removed another unsafe tractor trailer.

Also on Friday, troopers stopped a tractor trailer with no trailer brakes on Route 4 in Turner. The truck, operated out of Orlando, Florida, was found to be operating with no service air brakes on the trailer due to the service air hose being non existent.

The driver was cited for operating with no log book and defective tires, and the truck was placed out of service. The same driver and truck were cited in April of 2019 in Florida for similar problems.
