The president of the second-largest school in the University of Maine system is considering rebranding the school name.

Glenn Cummings, President of the University of Southern Maine, thinks changing the name may attract new students and improve the school’s reputation.

USM spokesman Bob Stein said one name option could be as simple as the University of Maine Portland.
