The president of the second-largest school in the University of Maine system is considering rebranding the school name.

Glenn Cummings, President of the University of Southern Maine, thinks changing the name may attract new students and improve the school’s reputation.

Our info partners at CBS 13 News report Cummings shared his idea with alumni via email Wednesday.

USM spokesman Bob Stein said one name option could be as simple as the University of Maine Portland.
