Maine’s Tri for a Cure Named a Top Triathlon Nationwide

Maine’s Tri for a Cure has been named the state’s best triathlon by Triathlete magazine.
The women’s-only race in South Portland was included in Triathlete’s 50 Best Triathlons in the U.S., with one race included from each state.
The magazine based its selections on races with the largest fields nationwide.
Tri for a Cure triathlon is the largest race in the state, with more than 1,200 women taking part out each year to raise money for the Maine Cancer Foundation.
The race includes a 1/3‑mile swim, 15‑mile bike ride, and 3‑mile run. It takes place at Southern Maine Community College in South Portland.
Since its inception, the Tri for a Cure has raised more than $28 million for Maine Cancer Foundation
