Traffic headed downtown on Congress St should utilize Fore River Parkway to West Commercial St, Douglass St to St James St or I-295 to Forest Ave. The start of the project is still Thursday, June 26 and the duration is still potentially one to six days.

The repair project will then move to five residential railroad crossings near Forest Avenue and Woodford Street.

The crossings at Prospect Street, Ashmont Street, Coyle Street, Lincoln Street, Revere Street, and potentially Woodford Street, will be closed all at the same time. The time frame for these closures is not set yet, but it is expected to take place between June 28 to July 1 or between July 7 to July 15.

The work is being done by the railroad’s owner, CSX Transportation.
