A new survey shows strong support in Maine for limiting contributions to political action committees.

The latest Pan Atlantic Research Omnibus Poll shows nearly 70 percent support for setting a $5,000 limit on donations to PACs that spend money independently to support or defeat candidates for office.

The issue will be on the ballot in Maine in the Novermber election.

The limit would only apply to PACs that make contributions to races involving candidates.

People and corporations would still be able to donate unlimited amounts of money to ballot and political party committees.
