Police in Portland have arrested a man in the same area where a six-year-old girl was attacked after she opened the door at her home Monday morning.
Police haven’t said that the man they arrested was the man who attacked the girl on Monroe Ct., but neighbors say he fits the description of the suspect, and he’s frequently in the neighborhood.
The attack occured around 6:30 a.m. when a man claiming to be a maintenance worker knocked on the door.
One family member said the man threw the girl on the ground, choked her and touch her inappropriately.
She was taken to the hospital to be evalauted and was later released.
According to CBS 13, the man who was arrested was seen running across lawns and confronting police with a metal pole.
His name has not been released, but he’s been charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.
