Man arrested for allegedly stabbing a man in Portland

PORTLAND (WGME) — A man has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed another man in the back in Portland on Monday.

The incident happened at Deering Oaks Park near the intersection of Forest Ave. and High Street around 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Police say they found the victim, a 44-year-old man who is a transient in Portland, with a stab wound to his back.

A stabbing at Deering Oaks Park in Portland near the intersection of Forest Ave. and High Street on Monday is under investigation.

The suspect, 39-year-old Robert Walters, also a transient in Portland, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
