Man charged with murder in Portland homicide investigation

Portland police have made an arrest in connection with a homicide investigation.

Police were called to a report of a domestic disturbance at 263 Cumberland Ave. on Friday around 7 p.m.

58-year-old Christopher Godin was found dead in a hallway when officers arrived.

A second person, 27-year-old Jonathan Alas, was found in another part of the building with serious injuries.

The medical examiner ruled Godin’s death a homicide on Saturday. Jonathan Alas, who was still hospitalized at Maine Medical Center, was charged with murder on Monday.

The cause of death was not being released.
