A Skowhegan man was arrested after police say he drove onto the airfield at the Augusta airport and then smashed through a gate as he sped away.
According to the Kennebec Journal, police say the man was driving a brand-new Toyota Tacoma pickup that had just been purchased.
CBS 13 reports that the man was identified as 28-year-old Corey Adams.
Police say he drove onto the airfield after getting in several crashes on nearby Western Avenue.
Adams was arrested nearby just a few minutes after fleeing the airport.
The suspect was charged with aggravated criminal mischief, operating a motor vehicle without a license and driving to endanger.
