Man sentenced to 38 years for fatal machete attack in Maine

ALFRED, Maine (AP) A judge has sentenced a Limington man to 38 years in prison for the machete killing of a neighbor.

Prosecutors said Bruce Akers nearly decapitated the victim during a fight stemming from an argument over allegations of stolen alcohol. T

he victim, Douglas Flint, was reported missing in June 2016 before police searched Akers’ property. His body was found hidden under a pile of rotting deer carcasses and debris.

The sentence was imposed Monday in York County Superior Court.
