BRUNSWICK, Maine (AP) Thousands of Maine college students will complete their semesters via remote learning because of the threat of coronavirus.

The University of Maine System announced on Wednesday that it will transition to distance learning when classes resume on March 23, after spring break. The university said through a spokesperson that it will also notify on-campus residential students to depart campus by March 22.

Bowdoin College won’t allow students to return to campus from spring break, and will complete the spring semester through remote modalities.
