Mass Man Arrested on Drug Charges During Stop on Turnpike


GRAY, Maine (WGAN)  A traffic stop for speeding becoming a drug bust on the Maine Turnpike.

On Dec. 21, Maine State Police say they were conducting an aircraft detail in Gray when a vehicle was stopped for speeding on the southbound side.  Police say a roadside investigation led to the seizure of 60 grams of cocaine as well as $2,200 in cash.

The driver, 41-year-old Raymond Whittington from Springfield, Mass., was arrested and charged with unlawful trafficking.  He was taken to Cumberland County Jail where bail was set at $10,000.
