Massachusetts Man Arrested on Drug Charges in Bangor

BANGOR, Maine (WGAN)  Bangor Police say a Massachusetts man has been arrested on drug charges.

Police say early Sunday morning, an officer stopped a car in relation to an earlier incident at a local bar.

Police say 35-year-old Jerry Pierre-Francois was one of the occupants and as he spoke with the officer, he lifted his ball cap and a bag of suspected cocaine fell to the ground.

Police say the Brockton, Massachusetts man denied the bag was his and that someone else had thrown in on the ground.  He was taken to Penobscot County Jail, where police say more bags of suspected cocaine, a few illegal pills and $1,500 in cash were found.

Police say Pierre-Francois has prior drug convictions and was charged with aggravated trafficking and trafficking in prison contraband.

His bail was set at $20,000 cash.
