Middle school student charged after “suspicious device” reported on Gray-New Gloucester school bus

An 11-year-old boy has been charged with terrorizing after what police say was a suspicious device was found on a Gray-New Gloucester school bus.

The bus was stopped around 3 p.m. Thursday on Ricker Road in New Gloucester.

The bomb squad was called in to investigate. Police have not shared what the device was, but said it was not an explosive.

Deputies say the suspect is a 6th grade middle school student. He was released to his parents’ custody after being charged.

No other details have been released.
