PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN)  The search for a missing Portland man ended Wednesday night with the discovery of his body.

50 year old Robert Smith’s body was recovered around 5:30pm.

He had gone missing during Tuesday’s storm, last seen entering a wooded area at the end of Luke Street. Police say Smith suffered from depression.

It appears he had been drinking.

The exact cause of Smith’s death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s office.
