AUGUSTA. Maine (WGAN) Shawn Moody gathering enough votes to clinch the republican gubernatorial primaries.

Tuesday night moody addressed the crowd, saying he’ll fight for all Mainers.

“We’re going to go to work for the whole state. North, South, East, and West. It’s about all of us. It’s about Mainers. And we’re going to take our state back.”

Moody stayed above the 50% threshold all night with Garret Mason coming in 2nd.

Moody won an outright majority of the vote, making him the winner of his primary. With a majority, there’s no need for additional rounds of voting under Maine’s ranked-choice voting system.

Moody’s win was finalized with a little under two thirds of precincts reporting in.
