Motorcycle crash in Dayton leaves one dead

A teenager died in a crash in Dayton when his motorcycle struck a car.

Police said the crash happened around 8 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Route 5 and River Road. A preliminary investigation found that the driver of the motorcycle, 18-year Ian Lajoie of Dayton, was passing in the left lane and clipped the front driver’s side of a sedan as it was turning.

Lajoie suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The three occupants in the sedan were not injured.

The crash is still under investigation.
