New Aldi to open in Portland on Thursday

The first Aldi location in Maine is opening in Portland Thursday morning.

A ribbon cutting for the new location at the former Big Lots store on Brighton Avenue will take place at 8:45 a.m.

They’ll also have a coffee station open Thursday morning and giveaways for the first 200 customers.

It’s part of the company’s plan to open 800 new stores.
