New coronavirus infections dip below 100 in Maine

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) The Maine Center for Disease Control said Wednesday that the number of coronavirus infections dipped below 100 for the first time in nearly a month.

Maine hadn’t dropped below 100 cases since Feb. 21, when the state announced 98 infections.

The state’s seven-day average is 190 infections while the number of deaths is below 1. No new deaths were reported Wednesday.

There have now been 43,483 cases of COVID-19 in Maine since the pandemic began about a year ago. There have been 725 deaths.
