BANGOR, Maine (AP)   A group that seeks to link Maine veterans with agricultural jobs has a new executive director.

United Farmer Veterans of Maine says Donovan Todd is taking over the post on Monday.

The group says Todd has worked in food and agriculture for nearly 40 years and has held positions within the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Farmers Home Administration, as well as in private industry. He recently served as the state executive director for the Farm Service Agency from 2009 to 2017.

United Farmer Veterans says chief executive officer and founder Jerry Ireland is stepping down as president, but will stay on board as CEO. He will stay with the group to work on initiatives promoting growth and entrepreneurship for Maine vets.
