HOULTON, Maine (WGAN) A New Hampshire man and a woman from Houlton are under arrest for trafficking heroin in Aroostook County.
Agents from Maine’s Drug Enforcement Agency searched an apartment at 65 Court Street in Houlton Wednesday night following an investigation into the sale of heroin and other drugs.
Agents seized about 90 grams of suspected heroin and several grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $10,000. Other evidence consistent with drug trafficking was also seized.
31-year-old Matthew A. Perry of Concord, New Hampshire, was charged with two counts of unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs. Perry also had five outstanding arrests warrants for him, three from New Hampshire and two from Maine. He was on probation from New Hampshire for Aggravated Assault. His bail was set at $10,000 cash.
His companion, 19-year-old Makayla McGuire was charged with a single count of Class A, Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs. Her bail was also set at $10,000 cash.
Both were taken to the Aroostook County Jail.
