A 35-year-old New Hampshire man faces attempted murder charges after being accused of stabbing a man numerous times in Lebanon Monday afternoon.
York County deputies say they were sent to a disturbance on West Lebanon Road and were told there was a stabbing at the residence, with the 52-year-old victim having left the residence seeking medical attention for his injuries.
They say they found the victim on Carl Broggi Highway with numerous stab wounds to the chest, face, back, and head.
Deputies say the victim was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland due to the extent of his injuries.
They say an investigation revealed that Jeremy Potvin of New Hampshire, showed up at the residence and began stabbing the victim, with a total seven stabs landing. Potvin was known to the victim.
A search for Potvin followed, and he was eventually located by Berwick Police and held for the Sheriff’s Office.
Potvin was charged with Criminal Attempt Murder. Potvin’s bail was set at $150,000 cash bail.
Deputies say Potvin is still in custody and will make his first court appearance on Wednesday at 1:00 pm. at the York Judicial Center in Biddeford.
He’s has been booked at the York County Jail and will have his initial video appearance Tuesday at 1 PM.
An investigation is ongoing.
