New Jersey motorcyclist killed after moose collision in Maine

A motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a moose in Piscataquis County.

Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says the crash happened on I-95 at mile marker 240 southbound in T2 R9 Township, in Baxter State Park. The crash was reported around 7 p.m. Monday.

50-year-old Anand Sreedharan of Princeton, New Jersey, struck the animal when it crossed into his lane. Sreedharan was ejected from the motorcycle and succumbed to his injuries.

The moose was also killed.

The crash is still under investigation.
