AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) People with a disability that prevents them from filling out a paper ballot are getting a new online service in Maine.

The “Accessible Absentee Ballot” option will become available Friday on the secretary of state’s website. It is intended for voters with print disabilities, which may include vision impairment, physical dexterity limitations or cognitive impairment, which prevent an individual from independently marking a paper ballot.

The interim agreement was developed after a lawsuit brought by several plaintiffs including Disability Rights Maine.
