New program aims to make dental care more affordable for Maine veterans

A program that would make dental care more affordable for Maine veterans is being introduced next month.

According to the CBS 13, the program, which launches May 15th, is called the Maine Veterans’ Dental Network. Governor Janet Mills announced Wednesday that the program got off the ground thanks to a $35,000 grant from Northeast Delta Dental.

That grant money is being divided among eight participating clinics and federally-qualified health centers across the state.

The program covers preventative, diagnostic, restorative, oral surgery, and major restorative services, but excludes things like dental implants and orthodontics.
