FARMINGTON, Maine (AP)   A judge has scheduled a new trial for a Maine man charged with killing another man in a dispute over a drug debt.

WABI-TV reports 26-year-old Timothy Danforth will return to court in April on a charge of murder. A judge previously declared a mistrial in October because of a deadlocked jury.

Authorities say Danforth shot 24-year-old Michael Reis, of New Sharon, with a shotgun in June 2016. The man’s body was found outside the home of Danforth’s father.

Danforth’s lawyer says he acted in self-defense, but prosecutors say Reis was unarmed. Prosecutors say the shooting was the result of an argument over $200 worth of marijuana.

The judge has moved the case to Kennebec County, where a new jury will be selected starting April 5.
