The occupants of a dump truck weren’t injured after the vehicle caught fire Thursday morning on the Maine Turnpike.

Public Safety Spokeswoman Shannon Moss said the dump truck caught fire around 7:15 a.m. while traveling south on I-95 near mile marker 42 in Scarborough.

The driver was able to pull over before the truck’s entire cab caught fire. Both the driver and passenger managed to get out and weren’t injured.

The fire was extinguished but the cab was destroyed.

Traffic heading in both directions was impacted while one lane was shut down for about 30 minutes.
