A Waterville woman has been charged in connection with a multi-vehicle crash in Freeport.

Maine State Police say dispatchers received a call about a minivan heading north on I-295 around 9 a.m. Thursday. Callers said the van was stopping on the highway and then went into the median near mile 28 in Brunswick.

Police say the driver started heading south in the northbound lane and struck two vehicles head-on in Freeport. No one suffered serious injuries.

The driver of the van, 30-year-old Marina Kinney of Waterville, was taken to Maine Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. She was charged with driving under the influence.

The interstate was shut down for about an hour and 45 minutes while the scene was cleared.
