Norridgewock Man Jailed on Murder Charges

A 59-year-old Norridgewock man faces murder charges after a 39-year-old man was found dead at a residence on River Road Saturday morning.

Officers say the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit – Central was called to a reported shooting at the home at 9:25 am Saturday, where they found Christopher Nickerson, who was staying at the home, dead

Officers say they conducted an initial investigation and arrested Daniel Markey, who lives at the home, on murder charges.

He was taken to the Somerset County Jail and was scheduled to make his initial court appearance Monday at 1:00 PM.

Nickerson’s body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, where an autopsy will be conducted,
