COVID-19 hospitalizations in Maine remain at a low level, despite a slight uptick on Monday.

The number of people hospitalized with the virus fell for several weeks, but has held steady over the last nine days.

On Monday, there were 96 COVID patients in Maine’s hospitals, compared to 93 on Sunday. The number of COVID patients in the ICU continues to fall, with that number reaching 15.

Health officials continue monitoring for the spread of BA.2, a subvariant that’s being blamed for a rise in cases in other countries. Though BA.2 been detected in Maine, so far health officials don’t see any indication that another surge in cases is on the way.
